Sharon Koubek, NP
Sharon Koubek is a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who joined Fairmont Pediatrics in late 2023. With an extensive educational background and years of experience, Sharon is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to children. She graduated with honors from the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Continuing her pursuit of knowledge, Sharon completed her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with honors in 2007, specializing in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program. Throughout her career, Sharon has received recognition for her outstanding achievements.
Sharon Koubek, NP received the George Memorial Foundation Scholarship in 2004 and 2005, acknowledging her dedication to academic excellence. In 1996, she was awarded the Houston Funeral Director Association Scholarship, further highlighting her commitment to her chosen profession. Passionate about research, Sharon has served as a co-investigator at Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor School of Medicine. Her research focused on reducing intravenous infiltration in hospitalized pediatric patients, working alongside esteemed advisors in the field. Sharon has also presented her knowledge and expertise locally and internationally, discussing topics such as nursing education, underserved populations, and childhood obesity. Her presentations have demonstrated her commitment to sharing knowledge and advocating for the well-being of children. She presented on nursing education and practice issues in the United States at M.D. Anderson International in Madrid, Spain, in March 2004. Locally, she addressed topics such as assessing the needs of underserved populations and childhood obesity, emphasizing the importance of addressing these critical health concerns. Sharon's dedication to pediatric care has been evident throughout her career. She has served as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at various clinics. She has also worked as a Clinical Instructor at The University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing, where she imparted her knowledge and mentored future nurses.
